Much Needed Getaway at Discovery Shores Boracay

Summer isn’t complete without a trip to Boracay. It is indeed one of the best beaches in the Philippines and one of my favorites as well. The beauty of Boracay is unquestionable. The 4-km stretch of pristine white beach, powdery sand, crystal clear waters and magical sunset sessions will make you fall in love with the island more. Until now, I’m still amazed on how beautiful this place is. It is truly a paradise.

I often visit Boracay every May because of its yearly celebration of Labor Day popularly known as “Laboracay”. It is the time of the year where people go the Island to party all day and night. This year, it’s a totally different Boracay experience as David and I planned to go a week after the Labor Day weekend.

This trip to Boracay had the mermaid in me so excited because we’re staying at one of the best hotels in the island, Discovery Shores Boracay. I’ve heard so many good reviews about the TDLCI properties. From their location, amenities, food and the impeccable service, who wouldn’t want to experience all of these? I’m so ready to be treated like a queen!

Our flight to Caticlan got delayed so we were a bit upset but as soon as we arrived at the Caticlan airport, the Discover Shores team greeted us with drinks alongside with cute bracelets as their way of welcome.

They got our bags right after and then we rode a private van going to the port where a boat service was waiting for us.

Woot! Off to Paradise!

Look at those smiles! Thanks for the warm welcome!

We’re here! So excited to see the room!

Feeling so at home in our room! Yes, this is how Discovery Shores Boracay welcomes their guests. Just wow!

This is the view from our room. I wouldn’t mind staying here for week! or maybe a month?

I’m very particular with hotel bathrooms. Of course, Discovery didn’t fail me. Very clean and organised.

The welcome treat is not yet over! Upon settling in, we got a foot scrub and foot massage. All their guests can experience this treat whatever room type you will book 😉

Went out of the hotel just in time for sunset!! Another nice thing about Discovery Shores is that it is located in Station 1 where it isn’t too crowded. Guards are scattered outside the hotel so they can monitor the guests’ safety. Vendors are not allowed to stop in front of the Hotel either. Talk about security huh? I’m so impressed!

Pastel skies! No filter needed.

This trip is like a short vacation for David and I so we want it to be as chill as possible. We just want to enjoy the beach and relax. And what’s the best way to do that? Of course, book a spa for two (2) at the best spa resort in Boracay.

Nothing beats a massage at the famous Terra Wellness Spa to end our first night in Boracay. The vibe of the whole spa exudes warm and calm atmosphere. They will serve some refreshments first and they will ask you to fill up a form to assess your health condition and the kind of massage you want to do. We chose the Terra’s touch, which is a deeply relaxing massage. You can also choose from the 4 types of therapeutic oil that they will be using (rejuvenating, calming, detoxifying and uplifting). I chose rejuvenating infused with rosemary and bergamot. After filling out the forms, the masseuse will walk you to your room.

The room was so clean, cozy and spacious. The scent of the candles and the aroma of the oil will set the mood. They will let you change to you robes and start with their signature foot wash.

Can I just say it was one of the best massages I’ve had in my life! It was so soothing. They got the pressure that I wanted. You can really feel the tension between the muscles. I didn’t want it to end!

After the massage, they will offer a ginger tea, which has a calming and detoxifying effect. Walking our way back in the room was a struggle since we were half asleep. Times where I just want to shut my eyes and feel the oil in my body.

Day 2! Starting our day early with a breakfast at the Sands!

All our favorite breakfast selections are served here! They change their menus everyday so you don’t have to worry if you’re staying here for three (3) or more days.

After breakfast, we went to the pool area for a swim.

Around 3-4pm, you will spot this cutie food cart will lots of treats for everyone to enjoy. Yes, it’s free for all the guests of Discovery Shores! On that day, we had unlimited Filipino delicacies! Maja Blanca, Sapin sapin, buko pandan, sago’t gulaman any many more! It was a feast for our tummy!

We made sure to not miss the Happy hour at the Sandbar! Enjoy buy 1 take 1 cocktails between 4-7pm! The Sandbar serves a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. We tried mango and lychee mojito. I also recommend the classic one and the margarita, heard it’s their best sellers!

Watching the sun set while enjoying my drink.

On our last day in the island, we were supposed to check out around 12nn but I got a call from an Embassy in Manila around 9am requesting for an interview at 2pm on that same day. We were swimming in the pool that time so I immediately rushed to our room and packed. Good thing, Discovery Shores provides a complimentary van service for the whole duration of your stay. I wasn’t able to book a transfer but they were so helpful. Since they know I was on a rush, they immediately called for service, arrange my transfer and escorted me back to the airport. I’m really thankful to Discovery Shores because if it weren’t for their amazing service, I wouldn’t make it to my interview. Perks of having private vans and a boat service!

Even if my stay ended with that nerve wracking incident, I still left Discovery Shores with a smile on my face. I was really impressed with how they take good care of their guests. Everyone’s just so warm. I am beyond blessed to have experienced everything myself. Discovery Shores felt like home.

To those of you who are planning to go to Boracay, I highly recommend Discovery Shores Boracay to be your choice of hotel. Since they are celebrating their 10th year anniversary, you can now enjoy a Junior Suite room for a special rate of Php 10,500++ per night. It includes a buffet breakfast at Sands restaurant and Round trip boat and van transfers from/to Boracay Airport in Caticlan. Promo is valid until November 2017 so better start booking now here.

I promise you, you will not regret it!
