I have always been in appreciation of the beauty of Japan. I haven’t experienced snow in my entire life so I really wanted to visit during the winter season. However, I was told that the best time to visit the country is during the sakura season or best known as the cherry blossom season. Last year, I already conditioned myself of really pushing thru with my Japan trip this March, however, because of some uncertainties, it did not push thru.
Luckily, the country’s #1 Japanese restaurant chain is bringing the famous festival in Manila! To those who haven’t experienced Sakura festival like me, we can now eat under the cherry trees, try the common Japanese staples like grilled or fried meat, fish and vegetables, and colorful sweets line the picnic baskets. Upon entering the restaurant you can already feel the vibe of Japan.
Tokyo Tokyo is offering a Sakura-inspired bento meal. Dubbed as the Sakura Sumo Meal, which is perfect for sharing. It is composed of:
- 3pc. Fried chicken karaage, beef misono, 2 pc prawn tempura, vegetable tempura, vegetable misono, yakisoba and 2 bowls of steaming hot rice!
Aside from these favorites, the Sumo Meal also comes with 2pcs chewy Sakura Mochi Balls, a roll of pink colored glutinous rice cake with delectable peanut butter filling, 2 glasses of Sakura Lychee Fizz, a combination of Sprite and Sakura syrup with soft and flavorful nata strips!! YUMMM.
To those of you who eat like a sumo wrestler (just kidding!) or just want more Sakura inspired eats, you can also upgrade your sumo meal!
No need to spend a lot of money to go to Japan and experience the Sakura Festival because in Tokyo Tokyo, Japan is within reach. Enjoy a taste of Japan for only Php 379 per Sumo Meal. Your Japanese food cravings will surely be satisfied!
But just like the Sakura, this will be available for a limited time only. So what are you waiting for? Bring your friend, boyfriend/ girlfriend and pig-out buddy to the nearest Tokyo Tokyo branch and try this Sakura-inspired Sumo Meal!
